CHUSEOK
Seoul Searching

"Searching for answers, reconnecting with culture"
“Chuseok: Seoul Searching” intends to heighten awareness of the over 200,000 South Korean babies and children adopted from the 1960s to the present, and show the deep roots adoptees can feel even 50 years after leaving their homeland.

Adopted by an American family in 1974, Rachel arrived in the United States from Seoul, South Korea without knowing her culture, background, name, or birthdate. On the 50th anniversary of her adoption, she will return to her homeland for the first time during Chuseok, a Korean Thanksgiving.

Funds raised will help continue the production of “Chuseok: Seoul Searching,” a documentary film chronicling Rachel Abrahamson’s long and complicated journey of returning to her homeland.
